Sound Effects Used:
Most of the sound effects used in this game is from the characters either hitting someone or getting hit but there are also other effects which are from when you come into contact with an object in the game such as a wall, ground or even a car. The designers made sure that the game environments would include the sound effects that only were intended eg a crowd surrounding a fight you would expect to hear an uproar from them.
What do the music and effects add:
If we look at the music first it’s as if each track is telling its own individual story, almost like it was designed for a specific area in the game as it gives you sort of an emotional feel whenever you are about to fight someone in the game because the music suits the area so well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-6e-mjsqxs
Other times the music can get you really excited as it is rougher in sound but so much faster that it really gets you ready for whatever is getting thrown at you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ussqcDEYa6M
When listening to the music in this game, you are able to tell it contains within it subtle rock along with some opera which effectively makes the game in a word "awesome" because you have this deep meaningful music that using classical instruments such as violens and with the sound of the hyms mixed with this makes uou feel as if this is the fight that truly matters and that everything is put on the line, having this with the subtle hint of an electric guitar and picking up the pace while doing so gives you a burst of acceleration as you have both the pressure and excitement from combing two different kinds of music.
The sound effects used in this are what you would expect as they are similar to the previous incarnations of the game but there have been a few extra added to make the game more special. The game keeps the sound effects on a low key because they don’t want to overpower the music but you do realize its there such as if you throw a punch or kick you realize if you have made a direct hit or not because of the distinct sound difference but it is subtle. The sound effects also add realism to the game as each effect is quite different to the one before. Those in charge made sure that they didn’t take shortcuts as they wanted a game that included sounds for the background and the area where the fighting takes place for the players as sound is included whether it’s just the sound of the wind blowing or a car alarm going off.
